Do You Hear What I Hear?

Listening is not a reaction. It’s not talking. It’s not thinking about other things. It’s is not memorizing someone’s words. Listening is understanding what people mean
rather than simply what they say. It’s
letting someone know you care about them and what they have to say. A person cannot both talk and listen at the
same time. When you are talking, you are
not learning anything. You’re not taking
advantage of an opportunity to gain information. Failure to listen conveys that your mind is
closed.
On
the other hand, when you really work at listening, you can reduce confusion and
misunderstandings and more effectively evaluate the information you’re
given. Listening skills development
involves understanding good techniques and practicing them. By learning to listen better, you will
positively impact your effectiveness in your work and personal life and improve
your relationships with others. This webinar
will help you to:
·
Make a conscious decision to pay
attention.
·
Seek to understand not just what someone
says but what they mean.
·
Ask good, probing questions to clarify.
·
Postpone judgment until the end.
Listening
skills can be learned at any age. You
will become a better leader, better parent, spouse, employee, etc. Pretty much any role in your life will be
improved when you learn how to really listen.
